Hello and Happy Friday! We’ve made it to the half way point of Jan, and there’s still 14 weeks of January to go. Come on, we can do this!! 🙌
This week I’ve been looking at what jobs are trending this year already, and why that’s important even if you’re not looking for a new role. I’ve also been reading about some really fun ways to end a project (yeah, I didn’t think that was possible either!), and getting some lessons on crisis management.
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend. I’ll be off getting married 👰🤵

In January a lot of us look at training and certifications that we might want to commit to throughout the year. Of course, planning is excellent! Monday.com are offering 20% off all online certification programs until 31st Jan, so if your company uses (or is thinking of using) Monday, then you might want to consider adding this to your list. I’m 2x Monday certified and it helps a lot when showing that you can use it. Use code NewYears20 when you book
Which jobs are on the rise in 2025? LinkedIn has a list of the top 25 roles that are on the rise in the UK. Now, I’m not suggesting we all change careers, but take a look at the skillsets required for a lot of these roles - a lot of them you might already have. For smaller companies, they will be needing existing people to take on some of these responsibilities - so this could be your guide of what to work on!
How can you and your executives travel better? Travel makes up a huge part of carbon footprints, and those of you who are maintaining or working towards B Corp certification will need to be all over this. Our friends at Navan have a great blog on how you can travel better - including how your travel can be kinder to the planet
If you’re job hunting at the moment, you might have seen some new AI tools that LinkedIn are bringing in. They show you how good a match you are, based on the role description and your profile. A tip here is that you can add skills to your profile at this point, before you apply, which will show the recruiter you are a good match. Premium users get a little more data on how they compare to others who have applied.
I’ve had to organise project retrospectives numerous times - generally when something goes wrong and there needs to be some finger pointing after the project has finished. That’s why this article from Parabol caught my eye - with loads of ideas on how to run a retrospective as a game. It’s a brilliant idea, and I’d love to run one of these!!

I’ve teamed up with three fabulous mentors to offer mentorship across a range of specialities. You can book in for an hour, or a block of three hours, to get expert advice and guidance from one of four women who all have vastly different backgrounds and experiences. Take a look here

Each month we’re going to be deep diving into a software platform or piece of tech that you might use, and we’ll give you a Top Tip each week for it.
For January, we’re going to be looking at Salesforce. I know this is a beast of a system, so at the end of Jan, I’ll be sharing a link to the guide I use the most when I have a Salesforce question.
If you are the admin for your Salesforce instance, I’d highly recommend restricting who can create reports. If everyone can, you’ll end up with quite literally thousands of reports and it will take an army to sort them out. Limit the number of people who can create them
Sign up to the Salesforce Trailhead to learn more about the tool. Salesforce has an extensive learning platform where you can practice in sandbox environments and earn badges and points when you complete lessons. The best bit? It’s completely free!

London EAs, there’s a fantastic event happening on 30th Jan with Pally Talks. They are having a speed coaching and discussion panel event at Jack Solomons, W1 from 6pm. I’ve met three of the four-person panel personally and all three (Jodie Mears, Lucy Chamberlain and Jessica Gardiner) have outstanding experience and knowledge to share, so no doubt the fourth (Ash Ruddy) will be equally awesome. Highly worth it if you can get there - buy your ticket here
Karen Roem is hosting a webinar all about how to work with tables in Excel. If these pesky things always trouble you, then you couldn’t be in better hands than with Karen. It’s on Wednesday 12th Feb at 4pm UK time and you can get all the info on how to sign up right here
Performance reviews are always a fun conversation (not), so HR Grapevine’s webinar on how to improve them will be really useful to loads of people. It’s on 12th Feb at 11am UK time - you can sign up here. If it’s a little to early for those of you in the US, if you sign up you’ll get access to the recording.
If you are running an event aimed at administrative professionals, please send me an email and let me know all about it - hello@theadminwrap.com
