Hello and happy Friday!
This week I’ve been correcting a major news publication; learning how our collective sleeping patterns impact the economy; and realising that companies having a menopause plan somehow stands them out as being exceptional these days.
I’ve also come across a list of the most common passwords - be sure to check if yours is on it!
I hope you’ve had a lovely week. I’m heading to the beach for the weekend to enjoy the hot weather the UK is having ☀

Some larger companies are turning to reverse mentoring (also known as “mentoring”) to help them learn from junior members of staff, or those from backgrounds different to their own. Let me tell you - mentoring doesn’t have to be from someone older or more experienced. It therefore doesn’t need a new name - it’s the same thing! Having said that, I’m still a fan, and I will always look to learn from colleagues - no matter their age or background.
Is your password one of the top 25 most commonly used passwords? I thought we were past the days of using “password” as our password, but apparently not! Fun fact - I once worked in an office where I had to type out our wifi password so many times that I knew it off by heart. A random mix of letters, numbers and special characters that meant absolutely nothing. That’s now my password for a lot of things!
How do you think your sleep affects your job? What about how your job affects your sleep? The two are interlinked - and multiply that over an entire country or region and you can see that if the economy is bad, people’s sleep is going to be affected, and then it starts to spiral. This was a fascinating read from Psychology Today
Is your employer accredited with being “menopause-friendly”? In this day and age, frankly it’s absurd that this is a win for companies. It’s great that menopause is finally getting recognised and women are being given the compassion and support that they deserve, and I support this wholeheartedly. But there’s something which doesn’t sit well with me, with this basic human need being celebrated 😞
Working for someone controlling is something that really pushes my buttons. I react disproportionately badly to someone trying to tell me how to do my job. But often, that kind of behaviour from a leader says far more about them than it does about you.
You guys absolutely LOVED this Habit Tracker! Thank you so much for all the positive feedback you shared with me about it. If you missed it, I’ve linked it here again this week.
